since his first ep * tips* on lucianos label cadenza in 2007 producer and dj petre inspirescu emerged into one of the key figures of the romanian electronic music scene.

when umek introduced his moniker zeta reticula at the beginning of the century, he got the following review: *sounds something like a cross between basic channel style minimalism, anthony rother electro bliss and ummmm.... umek and his crazy synthetic chords and razor sharp production.* his sound has changed since, but it seems like he is not immune to some nostalgia. electro nostalgia to be exact.

ok, we are quite slow on releasing records, but here is our next release on film. we stumbled upon the artist on a reseach for a music video - in the end we didn t discover a video director, but denial.of.service, an artist in many fields including music, video and performance art. as he ist active since the early eighties, he was involved in numerous projects, doing productions, remixes and videos for and with artists like david bowie, attrition extrawelt and daf. if you take a closer look on his artistic activity since the early 80ies ever then you will quickly realize there is a whole universe to uncover foald from around this artist. our suggestion: start with this fine ep, featuring a hidden secret artwork that unveils in the dark.

since infiltrating dancefloors and airwaves with april’s 2sox001 release, debukas has been dreaming away in his ‘shake box’ and travelling to another world. the follow up to that debut 2sox release is the dream travel ep from “the mr. fingers of the highlands” (brewster. bill, 2015, low life).

from detroit and passing thru chicago on the soul research train, comes titonton duvante, a multi-faceted artist who has been in the us scene for over 15 years, and has been making the motor city music scene proud ever since. recapitulate, ep vol1 is new and a pot of inspiration. two tracks which mix detroit grooves and sounds with a chicago style rhythm. recapitulate, produced with christopher rau, is experimental and ethereal. the ep ends with a yotam avni, a young and talented artist from israel, who takes recapitulate into techno with no compromises.

dead fader returns with his new album *glass underworld*. dead fader is the alter ego of john cohen - former brighton resident, now based in berlin - who has worked relentlessly since 2007 to realise his vision of electronic music. his tracks are characterised by pioneering sound explorations, which on one hand oscillate between sonic extremities and on the other hand carefully craft cinemascope sound worlds. *glass underworld* became a very personal exploration for john, developing further his emotionally tinged brand of techno which he established with the previous ep sun copter. furthermore, the film interstellar visually influenced the album, mapped as an image for cohens tracks to exist in. the vinyl release is limited to 300 copies and comes with download code included.

to anyone with even a passing interest in the weirder end of good-time party-ready house music, freaks should need little introduction. luke solomon and justin harris have been keeping our preferred kind of dancefloor vibrating to the cheekiest manifestations of house music since the mid 90s, never letting up and moving in the same oscillations as the good ship circus company.

west side chicago hardware anthems. nick reads windbreaker project has been his refuge since the days of lazer crystal (thrill jockey). a chicago diy scene staple for over ten years, this is the first windbreaker full length. imagine kraftwerk being trapped in berghain and living off of floor scraps or christian hosoi pulling a christ air over the pyramids and you are somewhere close.

following up the fantastic summer re-release of upsetting keys “empathy” ep, path records follows with its first new catalogue number since 2006. path 008 marks the return of artist fate 258, whose 1999 “why 2k” path 001 ep has been a hotly sought after item on discogs. the three-track ep contains two exciting new mixes of cult classic techno track “the path”. the a-side version “path to hell” is the harder of the pair, a dark edgy journey into the unknown with shuffling 808 rhythms providing much of the melody. “path to heaven” slows the groove down and adds warm juno pads throughout the mix for a very deep detroit flavored techno style. on the final track “heaven or hell” sort of a broken beat downtempo piece, sparse vocals and bladerunner samples mix to complete the dystopian concept. these mixes of “the path” are considered pre-mixes, as they were completed in 1998 before the original release of path 001. fate 258 is a project from brooklyn producer reade truth, known for his work over the last decades on labels such as planet e, sonic groove, n-syde, wurst and strictly rhythm to name a few. limited to 250 worldwide, with the first 100 including full black and white cover art.

solimano returns to his unlock recordings imprint with two mellow house cuts, featuring a pair of imaginative reinterpretations from fellow argentinean’s barem and deep mariano. originally established to promote latin american productions in 2004, unlock recordings has since hosted the likes of jorge savoretti and guti. its founder, gonzalo solimano, has proven himself time again as a label owner, dj and producer, working as a ‘mr. x’ at red bull academy for almost ten years when not performing at the likes of creamfields buenos aires, south american music conference and space world tour. ‘learjet’ is a low-slung groover complete with organic samples, bass guitar licks and a hypnotically looped vocal sample. up first on remix duties, minus regular barem subdues the raw textures of the original to generate an understated rendition, whereas get slow founder deep mariano takes it down a percussive route where an infectious rhythm is accompanied by dub inspired synths. finally, ‘calling again’ is a sensual deep house cut featuring the vocals of sophie taylor, known for her collaboration with mathias kaden, among many others.

infamous for his part in glasgow’s dj duo optimo and the production partnership naum gabo (speicher / kompakt extra), j.g. wilkes is an esteemed music producer with a catalogue that has been building since the turn of the century. the ‘jaxon’ ep is j.g. wilkes’ first widely available solo 12” release containing four exquisite cuts exploring the ethereal boundaries of electronica. taken from a limited edition mini album box set entitled ‘german pizza party’ (vf111), j.g. wilkes’ ‘jaxon’ is the only track from that collection aimed anywhere near a dancefloor, in which rich and potent rhythms collide with foreboding frequencies. cologne’s barnt isn’t afraid to let the elegance of space and chaos into his heartfelt rework, solidly cementing the koln-glasgow freundschaft. the ep features two further productions from wilkes, the melancholic, beatless and occasionally ruthless ‘bathing beauty’ in its original form and ‘useful tool’, given a turbulent rework by naum gabo.

one of paper disco s biggest tunes of this year has been given the all star re-rub treatment and it s a full house of dancefloor dynamite. the original has been rocking the boxes of the great and the good since it was out last year on trash the wax 2 and luke una bomber played it last month on 6 the music mif special as manchester s hot tune of the moment as well as nemone on electric ladyland.

london based duo moodtrap have remained anonymous under this guise since stepping onto the scene in 2011 via tsuba records, although the pair have a long standing relationship with electronic music having been releasing material and touring the globe for many years. here we see the pair add a new label to their affiliations, namely london s lower east which has just celebrated a milestone five years releasing material.

since the release of his first album in 2013, lucas arruda has quickly established himself as one of the most talented young artist and composer from brazil. his music is filled with fusion style, mixing influences and elements from his latin musical background, with his genuine admiration for jazz, soul and funk music.

released in 1997, this stunning ep from kerri chandler is considered by many to be the best of his raw grooves series and maybe even his best work of the late 1990 s. ladbroke grove and what about us are the classics here while dub music and can t you see tread into darker minimal chandler territory. out of print since 2001, this is another slab of large music essential wax for every serious collector.

rising british artist alexis raphael has come a long way over the past few years since initially stepping onto the scene via jamies jones hot creations in 2011, since then raphael s name has graced the catalogue of leftroom, culprit, lower east, moda black and of course madtech where he returns to here. with such an impressive list of affiliations and an already noteworthy back catalogue under his belt, alexis is undoubtedly a driving force in the world of contemporary house music out of the uk.

as benedikt rugar s superbly illustrated cover art for the recent cocktail d amore compilation nothing matters when we re dancing proved, the berlin collective proudly celebrate their status as a forum for berlin s gay community to fully express themselves. with no releases on the label since that compilation arrived in january, discodromo and dj boris have now unveiled a sister operation with a focus on edits under the wonderful name cockring d amore. the debut release features contributions from label regular massimiliano pagliara, the unheralded trent and founders discodromo.

capital bass continues to gather russian names under one roof and expand stylistic variations. next big thing is a three-track ep from ponty mython (alex). this is the second ep by sir ponty mython on capital bass. it has been two years since his bulletproof jesus ep in 2013. during these two years ponty mython has been working with such iconic house imprints as arma, quintessentials, dirt crew and others. his new adverbs ep is a quite eclectic thing. side a is a filtered house banger gracefully - a result of sampling games with moscow house star lay-far (local talk, in-beat-ween). side b - afterwards tune is a real one-loop thriller, dirty and raw, with african samples and invisible sub bass line. on b side you can also find a psychedelic version of afterwards by saint petersburg techno artist nocow (roots united, fauxpas musik). fernando pulichino, the argentinian multi-instrumentalist and producer, has been releasing music since 2001. he is part of silver city, and was one of four members of the infamous 20:20 soundsystem (alongside ralph lawson & co.) and his own solo productions have featured on labels such as international feel, redux, under the shade, nang and many more.

since the early years of our label tigerskin has been one of our most prominent artists. an integral part of dirt crew, he has over 15 releases on the label, either as solo artist or in collaboration with till von sein.

a highly regarded producer and musician who used to be in the midst of the ny metro breeding reactor that spectatuclarely revived and modernized disco and italo disco since the turn of the century and added some hotliped live brass to their platters and whose sought after releases under his own appear appear much to rarely dons his house cloak and dagger for 3 sneaky new chapters on story. not wasting any time on unnecessary nicety the a-side track will send up a whole colony of ants right up your pants riding on a steamrolling percussive disco groove garnished with cut up vocals and fx trickery. b2 is another chicago style wedding of disco and house with a jubilant, string backed female vocal snippet tweaked over a heavy groove while the first track on the flip is a subterrenean, groaning dub house affair that reminds of a slowed down john ciaffone banger. no matter which chapter you jump to here it puts you right into the action.

very few artists have influenced the sound of house and techno as much as roman flügel. having been active since the early 90s under various aliases, few have been revered so widely as a dj, live performer, producer, remixer, intellectual and record label owner. the record labels he helped found, ongaku, klang and playhouse, are pivotal imprints in the electronic music scene, and his ability to gracefully incorporate and master most styles of 4/4 has seen him create a range of genres from techno, house, electro, ambient, idm, downtempo, and acid house.

bajo armada consists of raul dahm cardo and mike burion, who met as they started sharing a room for musical purpose. since, it was clear that they both wont longer make music just by their own and they shortly started making music as a duo benefiting from experiences in producing a broad range of musical genres,djing and sound engineering. the outcome combines deep house and techno with world and melodic elements. bajo armada is part of suspected cologne extremely limited as always!
